Self Portrait - Inner Conflict

James - This video was shot on a rooftop in Ecuador as an experiment in achieving a modern film fight effect with no special effects, no sound equipment, no equipment of any kind beyond the camera itself (not even a tripod), only one person as cast and crew and one day to shoot and edit. I'm doing this with a view to possibly using miniDV for some longer projects while I'm living in South America. The idea would be to make a feature of the lack of high definition and other expensive things while still maintaining a high level of organization in production, storytelling with a narrative continuity editing style and visual composition. Ideally, to keep everything that is important about a film, but without any of the expensive and time-consuming trimmings.

Boyan - I like this video because of its narrative quality. The sounds creates a rather unsettling feeling matched by the dis-jaunt footage and I think it marries well. It is an interesting experimental piece and it will be equally interesting to see what it evolves into with future projects.
